sqlDESKTOP can use your email account  to send and receive mail or use your regular email program (Outlook, Thunderbird etc..) to send mail.

Protection against data lost
 sqlDESKTOP stores all persistent data into a centralized SQL database and turns your desktop into a stateless desktop (desktop without persistent data). Support of stateless desktop is easier (and cheaper) than traditional fat desktop. There is no vital information to backup or restore, and recovery from a severe disaster is very simple because stateless desktops are interchangeable parts that are easy to replace.

 Small organizations can use sqlDESKTOPserver as centralized SQL database. sqlDESKTOPserver is a click and run database server that doesn't require Database Administrator to operate.

Organize photos stored on hard drive or CD / DVD
 sqlDESKTOP can manage photos stored on hard drive and on CD / DVD. You can start storing on hard drive and move later on CD / DVD when there are enough photos to fill a CD /DVD.
