How to set up sqlDESKTOP network version with sqlDESKTOPserver ?
With a network, you can access the other PC to retrieve a file, use the printer attached to the other PC, play multi-player computer games, or most importantly share your broadband Internet access such as cable or DSL modem with the other PC. You don't need to be a computer geek to build a network. You can easily set up a network in a few easy steps with a router (Usually your ISP provides a Wireless router with build in DSL modem with your subscription). There are thousands of different network layouts. Fortunatly, they are small variations of the following layouts which are very easy to set up ( Just follow the set up instructions of the router).

Second step: install sqlDESKTOPserver and sqlDESKTOP
Install sqlDESKTOPserver on a computer with lot of free disk space ( it will store all data of your network) , with the fastest hard drive ( all users of your network will access it) and connected to the network with an Ethernet cable. You also need a second drive for back up purpose. You don't need a fast drive if you only use it for back up. You can use an external drive, a drive of another PC on the network or even an USB flash memory drive if it is big enough to store all your data.
Next install sqlDESKTOP on all the computers of your network.
Third step: launch sqlDESKTOPserver and connect sqlDESKTOP to the server



On consecutive logons, sqlDESKTOP fills as default values, the values you enter at the first logon. You have only to enter your password:
